Job Summary: Performs specialized life sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service.  Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport for the critically ill or injured under the direction of medical control physician. Responsible for responding to requests by the nursing staff or physician staff to assist with ALS interventions and to assist with emergency cares within the emergency department according to protocols and polices approved by the hospital and emergency department medical director, and hospital policy. Performs other duties related to the provision of care as assigned after appropriate training.
