Patient Access Clerk
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for efficient and orderly admission of patients for hospital based outpatient testing or procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Interview patients for the purpose of initiating accounts.
- Ensure patient demographic and insurance information is collected to assure rapid reimbursement.
- Communicates with external payers and employers as necessary.
- Initiates collection activity by requesting co-payments, deductibles, deposits and anticipated balance due.
- Receives and documents acceptance of payments on accounts.
- Provides information and answers questions about consent for treatment, assignment of benefits, acceptance of financial responsibility, release of records, patient rights and responsibilities and advanced directives.

Works collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team to oversee and supervise all aspects of care/programming for the dementia resident.
